Clearing Cache Tutorial

Clearing Cache is important and super useful for several things on Marapets like fixing website glitches, newly replaced art not updating and improving the website's overall performance by speeding it up. Keep in mind that you can also try a hard refresh before clearing cache as clearing your cache will log you out of ALL websites that are saved on your browser and clear out your browsing history.

This was adapted from one of my Marablogs from 2018. Internet Explorer & Firefox's secondary option were omitted in this update as IE is absolete and Firefox has advanced enough to contain only the one option.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click on the three lined dots, scroll to the bottom then click on “Settings.”
  2. Scroll to where it says “Clear Browsing Data” then click on “Choose What to Clear.”
  3. Ensure that “Cached Data and Files” is checked.
  4. Press "Clear."

Google Chrome

  1. Click on the three stacked dots in the top right corner of the browser.
  2. Click on “Settings.”
  3. Search for “Cache” at the top.
    OR scroll down and click on “Advanced”, under “Privacy and Security”, you’ll click on the last option of “Clear Browsing Data.”
  4. Click on “Clear Data.”

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click on the Library icon, then click on “History.”
  2. Click on “Clear Recent History…”
  3. Click on the “Details” arrow to make sure you have selected “Cache” and then click on “Clear Now.”

Apple Safari

» This may slightly differ on Apple Computers as I'm a Windows user.

  1. Click on “Settings” gear on the top toolbar.
  2. Click on “Preferences.” (press CTRL + , for quick access)
  3. Click the “Privacy” tab.
  4. Click on “Remove All Website Data” then click “Remove Now.”

Microsoft Edge (Mobile)

  1. Click on the hamburger menu (three stacked lines).
  2. Click on the “Settings” gear.
  3. Click on "Privacy and Security."
  4. Click on "Clear Browsing Data."
  5. Click on "Clear Now" at the bottom.

Google Chrome (Mobile)

  1. Click on the vertical ellipsis menu (three stacked dots).
  2. Click on “Settings.”
  3. Click on “Privacy.”
  4. Click on “Clear Browsing Data.”
  5. Ensure “Cached Image & Files” is checked then click on “Clear Browsing Data.”

Apple Safari (Mobile)

  1. Open your iPhone Settings.
  2. Scroll down to “Safari.” (usually found under FaceTime)
  3. Scroll near the bottom then click on “Clear History and Website Data.”
